BEAD PLUS IXX
PURPOSE |
| Bead Plus IXX For Pavers is specifically formulated to reduce water absorption in paver manufacturing. As water absorption is lowered, efflorescence will be minimized because there will be less migration of soluble salts from the matrix. This product is especially effective in reducing secondary efflorescence in pavers. |
OTHER BENEFITS |
| Bead Plus IXX For Pavers also will result in a finished product that has greater density and strength. As a result, the surface finish for pavers is very similar to a paver with a face mix but without using a face mix. With Bead Plus IXX For Pavers you can normally reduce the dosage of color pigments and totally eliminate the use of a plasticizer. |

| A simple test that you can conduct to evaluate the performance of Bead Plus IXX For Pavers is to place two samples of finished concrete in a bucket of water, one piece having been made using Bead Plus IXX For Pavers and the other piece having been made with your current additive, if any. The two pieces of concrete should be similar in size, and the water level should be maintained so that each piece is approximately half submerged during the entire test. The test should be conducted for a period of two weeks in a cool, shaded environment. During this period, you will observe that the test sample containing Bead Plus IXX For Pavers has much less efflorescence (discoloration) than the sample prepared with your current additives. |

APPLICATION |
| It is recommended that Bead Plus IXX For Pavers be added at the rate of 4 to 25 ounces per 100 lbs. of cement (260 to 1040 ml per 100 kg), depending on the degree of efflorescence, during the final water phase of the mixing cycle. Do not add this product at an earlier stage, as this will lower its effectiveness. If you desire to use other additives, please phone us at the number shown on the last page of this document. |
STORAGE AND AGITATION |
| The shelf life for this product normally is six months; however it contains water and must be protected from freezing. Bead Plus IXX For Pavers will be subject to degradation if stored in an environment where the temperature is less than 40oF. Occasional agitation is required when stored for a period exceeding 30 days. |
