EVERBEAD II
PURPOSE |
| Everbead II is an invisible water-based water repellent for use on horizontal or vertical surfaces such as concrete block, brick and precast masonry. This product sets up a barrier at and slightly below the surface of concrete allowing the material to breathe, yet preventing moisture from penetrating. This barrier is very resistant to ultraviolet and/or weather deterioration. As a result, Everbead II treated concrete products will continue to bead water for more than 3 years. |
OTHER BENEFITS |
| Everbead II is compatible with paint and will minimize spalling from freeze/thaw conditions and will minimize efflorescence caused by substrate salts and chemicals being carried to the concrete surface by inherent water. It will not alter the color or texture of the concrete surface and the surface will maintain a cleaner appearance by inhibiting mold formation and the deposit of dirt and oil. Everbead II treated products are also easier to clean if subjected to unsightly graffiti. Everbead II can be applied to both vertical and horizontal surfaces. Paint can be applied over a surface treated with Everbead II. |

APPLICATION |
| The concrete surface must be thoroughly dry prior to application since Everbead II will not fully penetrate wet or damp surfaces. Allow at least 2 days to dry following a heavy rain. It also must be clean and free from cracks, surface finishes (e.g. paint) and contaminants (dirt, oils, efflorescence, etc.). Everbead II treated products are normally dry to the touch in 6 hours; however, they require at least 48 hours before testing or subjecting the product to a hard rain. Paint or other coatings may be applied over this product. The recommended dosage follows: |
| Products | Recommended Coverage |
| Split Face Block | 40-60 ft2/gallon |
| Regular Block | 60-80 |
| Porous Brick | 100-200 |
| Fired Brick | 200-250 |
| Regular Precast | 200-300 |
| Precast Panels | 200-300 |
| The above coverage estimates are approximate and will vary for each specific case. Use of this product should be at temperatures exceeding 50oF. It may be applied by using a conventional low-pressure rotary or gear pump sprayer, or a commercial grade pump-up spray tank. Do not use a paint or high pressure airless sprayer. Best results are obtained by delivering a soft stream of Everbead II using a fan spray tip with an orifice of 0.03" to 0.06" and saturating the treated surface. Clean the equipment after each use with water. Do not dilute or thin this product as this will affect its performance and may cause discoloration. Surfaces coated with EverBead II can be painted after the initial cure period. WARNING: Read the Material Safety Data Sheet prior to using this product. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. The use of eye protection during application is recommended. Any overspray should be removed immediately with soap and water. |
STORAGE AND AGITATION |
| Everbead II is a water-based product and must be protected from freezing. Store between 45oF and 100o, preferably between 45oF and 70oF. Shelf life normally is 8 months when stored in a cool environment and not contaminated by foreign materials. |
